HOW WE ARE FUNDED
The groups bid for funding from their local authority each year. We have a Service Level Agreement with the Learning Disability Partnership Board on spending the money. Such funding is not guaranteed and varies from year to year. We also bid for funding from other sources for essential projects and in the past we have secured funding for specific projects from; Berkshire Community Foundation, Values into Action (BILD) and Lloyds TSB.
Last year we received an ESF community grant to operate an Internet Café in the Be Heard office in Bracknell. The Bailly Thomas foundation has donated funds for us to research User Led Organisations.
The groups raise money by
direct fundraising (quiz, raffles, sales etc.). They also provide assistance to
the planners of services (e.g. social services, the NHS and Universities) for
which they sometimes get a fee. Be
Heard members have a Service Level Agreement with Thames Valley University to
provide training to undergraduates.
If you would like to help please make a donation through our page on the purecharity.org.uk website.
